According to many scholars of Norse Mythology, dwarfs and svartalfar (black elves) are believed to be one and the same creature. Dwarfs as they are portrait in popular culture as in Tolkien’s Universe, are quite different from how dwarfs/svartalfar are described in old Norse literature. Living in murky mines underground, these dark ugly creatures forged magical items. Myrkheim also known as svartalfheim/nidavellir is the home of these creatures. The Myrkheim collection with it’s twisted dark expression is inspired by this dark realm of Norse Mythology. All the pieces in the Myrkheim collection are named after dwarfs and magical trinkets.
